“Virtus Junxit Mors Non Separabit”
Who We Are
We are a Masonic Order. We are a group of regularly initiated Freemasons in good standing with a regular lodge. We are a bit rougher around the edges than the typical Mason but believe that it is the INTERNAL QUALIFICATIONS that make a man a Freemason. We love and ride motorcycles. We have an affection for tattoos. We are a smaller Brotherhood within our larger but equally as beloved Masonic family. We only admit regular Masons in good standing with the lodge in which they belong.

Our Purpose
Our first purpose is to provide a home and a support system for Masons that have the same love of motorcycles, tattoos, etc. and that share a common and similar mindset. We look to provide and deepen the ties of brotherhood that extend beyond the doors of the Masonic Lodge. We are also a way to show the world that the stereotype of a Freemason is not always correct.
Freemasonry today is as relevant, current and needed as it ever was. We attract Freemasons to the world of Motorcycling and men who have a passion for Motorcycles to the world of Freemasonry. We strive to show both Freemasonry and the Motorcycle community in a positive light.
Our History
The Free Runners Masonic Order was founded in the United States in 2012 by two US Marine Veterans. Both men were Freemasons who identified a need to change the stereotypes and overall perceptions of what Masons are and what they should be.
Since then the Free Runners Masonic Order has grown to span four Countries including the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Finland.
The Free Runners Masonic Order is a Neutral group. We work to support our local Motorcycle Communities, our local communities, local charities and our local masonic “Blue” lodges.
While we are not an MC, we do respect and follow historic MC traditions and protocols.

We are not a “buy-in” group and all potential members must go through a “prospecting” or probationary period. We recognize that we are not suited for everyone and likewise, not everyone is suited for us. It is mandatory that members be active members in the Order and in their lodge.
All members must be Free Masons in good standing. Applicants who are non Freemasons will be considered with the understanding that membership in FRMO will not be achieved until membership in Freemasonry is achieved. Interested parties can contact us directly for more information.

These aren’t open for debate, and we won’t change. This is simply information.
What is Freemasonry?
No one knows with certainty how or when the Masonic Fraternity was formed. A widely accepted theory among Masonic scholars is that it arose from the stonemasons’ guilds during the Middle Ages. The language and symbols used in the fraternity’s rituals come from this era. The oldest document that makes reference to Masons is the Regius Poem, printed about 1390, which was a copy of an earlier work. In 1717, four lodges in London formed the first Grand Lodge of England, and records from that point on are more complete.
Within thirty years, the fraternity had spread throughout Europe and the American Colonies. Freemasonry became very popular in colonial America. George Washington was a Mason, Benjamin Franklin served as the head of the fraternity in Pennsylvania, as did Paul Revere and Joseph Warren in Massachusetts.
Other well-known Masons involved with the founding of America included John Hancock, John Sullivan, Lafayette, Baron Fredrick von Stuben, Nathanael Greene, and John Paul Jones.
Another Mason, Chief Justice John Marshall, shaped the Supreme Court into its present form. Over the centuries, Freemasonry has developed into a worldwide fraternity emphasizing personal study, self-improvement, and social betterment via individual involvement and philanthropy.
During the late 1700s it was one of the organizations most responsible for spreading the ideals of the Enlightenment: the dignity of man and the liberty of the individual, the right of all persons to worship as they choose, the formation of democratic governments, and the importance of public education. Masons supported the first public schools in both Europe and America.
During the 1800s and early 1900s, Freemasonry grew dramatically. At that time, the government had provided no social “safety net”. The Masonic tradition of founding orphanages, homes for widows, and homes for the aged provided the only security many people knew.
Today in North America, the Masonic Fraternity continues this tradition by giving almost $1.5 million each day to causes that range from operating children’s hospitals, providing treatment for childhood language disorders, treating eye diseases, funding medical research, contributing to local community service, and providing care to Masons and their families at Masonic Homes.
What is a Blue Lodge?
This discourse is designed to give you a brief introduction to the Craft and the mainstay of Freemasonry, the Blue Lodge, or symbolic Lodge, as it is more properly known. Every man’s journey into Freemasonry begins in a symbolic Lodge, where he receives the first three Degrees in Masonry. These are known, respectively, as the Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft and Master Masons Degrees. Some refer to them as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Degrees. Only the most profound ritual and symbolism characterizes our Degrees, designed to open the eyes and mind to a higher ideal. Masonry is a closed society, not open to the general public, but rather to persons of like persuasions and ideals.

While no two people are alike, they can share a common belief in the Brotherhood of man and in ONE who we in Masonry refer to as the Supreme Architect of the Universe. The tenets of Masonry are Brotherhood, Relief and Truth. We espouse all men being equal, regardless of their worldly wealth or position, and attempt to relieve our fellow man’s woes and tribulations, again regardless of membership in the Fraternity.
We also practice the virtue of Truth. This may be the hardest of all, because it is often easier to tell a little white lie than to confront one with the truth.
Each state has a Grand Lodge, which presides over the operation of all Blue Lodges within that state. Joining a Blue Lodge is usually done by meeting a Brother from the Lodge that you are interested in joining. This Brother will be your guide to help you navigate the membership and initiation process of his Lodge. No man may become a Freemason without first being recommended by two Brothers and then having been found to be of good report by the Lodge’s Investigation Committee.
